Last week, TAG Heuer and Porsche unveiled their latest collaboration, the Connected Calibre E4 – Porsche Edition, the first smartwatch from the partnership between the Swiss watchmaker and the German car manufacturer. The new model incorporates special features exclusively for Porsche owners.
“Our brands have led the way in embracing new technologies,” said
Detlev von Platen,
member of the executive board for sales and marketing at Porsche AG, in a news release. “Just as TAG Heuer has led the luxury watch world in terms of embracing smartwatch technology, Porsche’s sports cars, such as the all-electric Taycan, innovate in their field.”
Taking aesthetic cues from Porsche’s all-electric Taycan, the Connected Calibre E4 – Porsche Edition (US$2,750) is designed to evoke the blue Taycan with a 45mm sandblasted black titanium case fitted with a polished black ceramic bezel and accents in the car’s frozen blue metallic shade. Even the black calfskin strap with blue contrast stitching echoes the leather finishing inside Porsche cars. There’s also an interchangeable black rubber strap for a sporty option.

The oversize black steel crown coated with rubber is designed to make navigating the apps more user friendly, while the pushers operate with the crisp feel of a fine mechanical watch.
The watch runs a customized version of Wear2 by Google and offers a range of exclusive timers and sport and wellness apps that highlight TAG Heuer’s legacy in sports timing, particularly in motorsports. The smartwatch also features a range of fitness features, including guided workouts and the brand’s popular golf app.
Technical upgrades from prior Connected models include a brighter screen, sharper contrast, and 30{5be0972a10a00bb621c1a18de1a801d58662e556d02921cebb422beac5e5b2fe} longer battery life, so a single charge lasts a full day with moderate use. Equipped with Bluetooth 5.0, this latest generation Connected is also faster at transferring data from and to the watch via a paired iOS or Android app.

For Porsche fans, the watch features an exclusive dial design called Circuit in frozen blue with a motif inspired by both electrical circuitry and racing circuits. The display features the requisite step counter and heart rate, but Porsche owners get something extra by linking the watch to compatible Porsche models, including Taycan, Panamera, 911, and others.
Using three chronograph-style complications, Porsche owners can see how much battery life is left in their all-electric or plug-in hybrid car, information on car autonomy and remaining driving distance, and a shortcut to the Wear OS My Porsche app allowing drivers to quickly control the vehicle’s heating and air conditioning systems. Another complication shows the car’s total mileage.
“For both TAG Heuer and Porsche, the thrill of driving is part of our heritage, and this watch celebrates the fearless spirit of both maisons—as well as highlights the sustainable innovation of the Taycan,” said
Frédéric Arnault,
CEO of TAG Heuer, in the news release.
